A Weekly Legislative Report for Members of the Alabama Agribusiness Council

The AAC Legislative Reception was a great success
with nearly 100 members and guests and
over 50 Legislators and Elected Officials attending! 

AAC is looking forward to making this an annual event!  

As we ring in the New Year one often reflects on the year's past; what an exciting year it was for the Alabama Agribusiness Council.  In 2007 AAC made great strides towards developing a strong future for this association with the hiring of a new full-time Executive Director, the opening of an office in Montgomery, securing a new funding source through a partnership with Asmark Institute and well attended Rodeo Roundup, Annual Meeting and Golf Tournament.

As plans are underway for the Legislative Reception and the Rodeo Roundup, I have really been enthused by the support for these events.  Sponsorships for these events have been great, to me this shows that there is a lot of interest surrounding AAC and our members really want to be a part of the action!

This year you will see an increase in membership benefits such as newsletters, educational information, compliance and regulatory assistance through Asmark Institute,  networking activities and weekly Legislative Updates throughout the Legislative Session.

As you make plans for 2008 please consider the following events:

• Annual Meeting, May 4-6, Prattville, AL
• Golf Tournament, early October, location TBA

As always, I am here to serve you and your interests in this association. I encourage you to participate in AAC activities to get to know your fellow members. If you are interested in becoming greater involved with AAC consider joining a committee, just give me a call!
